If you go out to Love’s Lane, you will see what this city commission, that had so much promise to begin with, has become. This is their idea of what Livingston needs—tear down its beautiful, full-grown trees so that a building can go in a totally inappropriate place.

If you went to the hearings on this, everyone who testified opposed the destruction of these trees and the placement of this building important to Livingston. The placement defies the Growth Policy that 1600 of us worked so hard on, which includes “Smart Growth.” They destroy what are beautiful, full-grown trees. There are places this building could go where they could build and then plant trees.

I have been involved in urban planning for a lifetime. This is what is not supposed to happen. Everyone who testified, testified against this travesty.

Please, Park County Environmental Council, help us save the remaining trees! Please! At the very least, the Department of Agriculture, that was created to support agriculture, could design their administrative building so the trees still standing would not be harmed.

This area on Love’s Lane was once a lane of beautiful trees and not all that long ago before the greed of a small group of people took over. They will not grow back in our lifetime.

A possibility is to go to https://www.usda.gov/about-usda/general-information/staff-offices/office-inspector-general/hotline-information and submit a complaint. By the way, the entity doing this is, ironically, the US Department of Agriculture and the Forest Service!
