Join them on Friday, September 26th, from 5 – 9 pm for a vibrant evening of art, poetry, and community during Livingston’s Friday Art Walk.
The night begins upstairs in the community space with an artist reception for the Kintsugi Art Exhibit, showcasing visual and literary works by local artists and writers. Inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi—the centuries-old practice of mending broken pottery with gold—the exhibit celebrates resilience, beauty, and the stories that emerge from imperfection.
The Cottonwood Club is a Poetry Roundtable, featuring Abraham Smith, Michael Earl Craig, and Yetta Stein bringing their distinct voice to Livingston’s literary landscape. Downstairs at 7:30 pm, poets Abraham Smith and Michael Earl Craig will be signing books along with an evening of raw, unfiltered poetry as part of its long-running DIY tradition. The DIY Poetry Roundtable.
More than a reading, the roundtable is a communal exchange—an invitation for listeners to sit close, breathe in the language, and hear poems the way they’re meant to live: out loud, in the moment, and in conversation with one another.
The Cottonwood Club has been hosting DIY art events for nearly two decades, with a mission to keep creativity rooted in accessibility, authenticity, and community. The Poetry Roundtable continues that tradition by stripping away the barriers of academia or formality, leaving only the direct connection between poet and audience.
