This annual community event returns this year on Sunday, September 21st after a several year hiatus. This fundraiser benefits the St. John’s Friendship Fund. Sonya Anderson, who serves on the Emigrant Hall Board and manages the Emigrant Hall rentals, has been organizing the event for several years and this year brings onboard as co-organizer, Christy Jones who coordinates the Emigrant People’s Market.

The turkey dinner is prepared and served by volunteers consisting of roast turkey, with traditional side dishes, delicious desserts and drinks. The meal is $10 for adults and $5 for children. To-go meals will be available. This year’s event is on Sunday, September 21st from 4 to 7 pm.

There will also be a bake sale and a raffle. Don’t miss a chance to bring home some awesome baked goodies. The raffle prize is a giant stuffed teddy bear that comes with several gift certificates donated by local businesses. Raffle tickets are $1 each, the drawing will be held towards the end of dinner service and the winner does not need to be present to win. Cash transactions only for dinner, bake sale and raffle tickets.

The St. John’s Friendship Fund helps those in need of assistance. Application requests for assistance are made to the fund and granted through a screening process. A community member does not need to be a member of the church to receive assistance. Additional donations to the fund are always welcome.

As a reminder, The Emigrant People’s Market is held every Saturday, weather permitting, May-October, 9 am – 1 pm. The market sets up on the St. John’s Church lawn. Coordinator Christy Jones also organizes several craft shows in the area including the Spring Fling Craft Show held in April at the Park County Fairgrounds.

The Emigrant Hall Autumn Craft Show is on Saturday, September 20th, from 9 am to 3 pm and will coincide with the outdoor market on the church lawn.

If you would like to sponsor part of the turkey dinner, volunteer or if you are a business owner and would like to donate a gift certificate for the raffle, please contact Ms. Jones by email at emigrantpeoplesmarket@gmail.com

Donations to the Friendship Fund can be made directly to St. John’s and mailed to 8 Story Road, Emigrant, MT 59027 (notate “friendship fund” in the memo line please).
