The Park County Sheriff’s Office and Livingston Police Department will increase DUI enforcement from April 20th through May 5th, covering both 4/20 and Cinco de Mayo—dates that historically see higher rates of impaired driving.
During this period, deputies and officers will conduct enhanced patrols, traffic stops, and DUI detection efforts throughout Park County and the City of Livingston to prevent impaired driving crashes and keep roadways safe.
“Impaired driving is one of the most preventable dangers on our roadways,” said Sheriff Tad Dykstra. “Whether the impairment comes from alcohol, cannabis, or any other substance, driving under the influence puts lives at risk.”
Livingston Police Assistant Chief Andrew Emanuel urged the community to plan ahead. “If you’re celebrating, make responsible choices. Arrange a sober ride, designate a driver, or use local transportation. One impaired driving decision can have lifelong consequences.”
Safety Reminders
- Never drive impaired.
- Plan a sober ride before celebrating.
- Report suspected impaired drivers.
The Park County DUI Task Force is a coalition of local law enforcement agencies and community partners dedicated to reducing impaired driving through enforcement, education, and outreach.
