The Community School Collaborative (CSC), in partnership with the Livingston School District—specifically Sleeping Giant Middle School—will host its next Cougar Career Day on Thursday, March 26th at Livingston HealthCare. For this special healthcare-focused event, SGMS 7th graders will be joined by students from Gardiner School and Shields Valley, expanding the reach of this hands-on career exploration experience.

Middle school is a pivotal time. At ages 12 and 13, students are beginning to shape their sense of identity and possibility. The messages they absorb—regarding their abilities, options, and futures—can stay with them for years. Cougar Career Day is designed to widen that lens.

Inside Livingston HealthCare, students will rotate through interactive stations that showcase the many careers required to keep a healthcare facility running. They will encounter not only doctors and nurses, but also technicians, administrators, support staff, and specialists whose work makes quality care possible. By asking questions, observing real environments, and engaging in hands-on activities, students begin to connect classroom learning to real-world purpose.

These experiences matter. When young people can picture themselves in meaningful roles, confidence grows. Motivation strengthens. The future becomes something they can actively shape rather than something that simply happens to them.

The Community School Collaborative is a local nonprofit organization committed to providing innovative career exploration and work-based learning opportunities for Park County middle school students. CSC raises 100% of its funding from the community so that these transformative programs can be offered at no cost to students or families. By building partnerships between schools, local employers, and caring adult volunteers, CSC helps cultivate workforce readiness, personal confidence, and long-term community resilience.
