The Park County Community Journal is excited to announce the launching of our 10th annual Best of Park County reader’s poll. They survey will open on Tuesday, September 1st and conclude on Wednesday, September 16th at midnight. For a decade, this event has celebrated the local businesses, services, and individuals that define the vibrant spirit of Park County.

As was the case in previous editions, some slight modifications have been made to the survey form. Though some categories were removed due to low response rates or lack of sufficient option choices, others have either been added or adjusted to reflect the full range of offerings in Park County. Look forward to new categories, such as international cuisine, food truck, brunch and brewery! 

We aim to continue improving the survey experience and encourage community-wide participation by contestants and voters alike. For example, a majority of categories now feature between five and ten fixed response choices based on last year’s results. Other options have been selected at the discretion of editorial staff, though, some categories include an open-ended response. The annual survey is subject to such changes as deemed necessary.

Finally, an optional feedback section has been included in this year’s survey. We ask that you use this section to recommend how the contest could be improved overall. New category recommendations will not be accepted. 

Voting guidelines include the following:

  • Participants must complete at least 50 percent of the survey form in order for their ballot to be valid. 
  • We ask that only part- or full-time Park County residents or employees participate in the survey. 
  • Duplicate submissions will be detected and excluded from the final analysis. 

Results will be published in print and online in a special edition on October 4th. The top three finalists in each category will receive certificates. Special window decals will be awarded to all first-place finishers recognizing their accomplishment.
