Wheatgrass Books welcomes Montana Poet Laureate Allen Morris Jones for a book signing during Livingston's Fourth Friday Art Walk on Friday, July 24th, from 5 to 8 pm.
Jones will be signing copies of his new short story collection, A Kind of Man, a powerful gathering of fiction rooted in the landscapes, history, and people of Montana.
From the windswept plains to the shadowed mines of Butte, A Kind of Man explores themes of grit, memory, loss, and resilience through a cast of unforgettable characters. The collection includes some of Jones's finest short fiction, along with the never-before-published novella A Kind of Man, set against the backdrop of the tragic 1917 Speculator Mine disaster.
Rich with a profound sense of place, Jones's stories illuminate the changing American West and the lives shaped by its beauty, hardships, and enduring spirit.
Allen Morris Jones is Montana's Poet Laureate and the author of multiple books of poetry, fiction, and essays. His work has earned widespread recognition for its lyrical language, deep humanity, and vivid portrayals of the Northern Plains and Rocky Mountain West.
Visitors are invited to meet the author, have books signed, and enjoy an evening celebrating literature and the arts as part of Livingston's Fourth Friday Art Walk. Wheatgrass Books will also feature its current gallery exhibition with new work by Alex Holden and remain open throughout the event.
The book signing is free and open to the public.
