Elk River Arts & Lectures and Elk River Books present an evening with Stephen Graham Jones, bestselling author of nearly three dozen novels and collections. This free event will take place Wednesday, May 27th at 7 pm at Elk River Books, 122 S. 2nd Street in Livingston. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
Jones is the acclaimed author of The Only Good Indians, Don’t Fear the Reaper, The Angel of Indian Lake, Earthdivers, I Was a Teenage Slasher, Killer on the Road, and many others. His work spans horror, crime, literary fiction, and comics, earning him comparisons to both genre masters and boundary‑breaking literary stylists. He lives and teaches in Boulder, Colorado.
Jones’s latest novel pushes his signature blend of horror, humor, and cultural critique into bold new territory. The Buffalo Hunter Hunter follows a man whose obsession with tracking a legendary figure pulls him deep into a landscape where myth, memory, and violence blur. The book explores the stories we inherit, the ones we chase, and the ones that refuse to let us go, delivering Jones’s trademark mix of propulsive suspense, sharp wit, and emotional depth. A review on National Public Radio notes, “Jones’s novels are literary cakes that lure readers with their frosting of blood and chaos, and then surprise them with the smart, soulful goodness lying underneath.”
For those who can’t attend in person, the event will live-stream on the Elk River Books YouTube channel. For more information, email info@elkriverbooks.com or call (406) 333-2330.
