Livingston will bring the Independence Day holiday in with a bang when local favorites The Max take the stage at the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts on July 2nd. A three-piece band from Livingston that has entertained and delighted audiences all over the U.S. for over 40 years, since its inception in 1984, The Max has played over 4000 shows, toured the U.S. extensively and has become a mainstay on the Montana scene since 1993, setting the bar for longevity and quality among the region’s many bands. This “power pop party rock” trio from the Rockies puts out a massive sound for just three guys and has an incredible knack for pulling off spot-on covers of tunes young and old.
“We invite the community to come down after the parade and keep the celebration going with us at The Shane Center Pavilion,” said Erika Adams, Executive Director of The Shane Lalani Center for the Arts. “The Summer Outdoor Concert Series (SOCS) concerts have become part of family summer plans, but this is the first time a show has happened the same day as the parade. Come on over to The Shane, we’ll have O Bar U Barbecue truck, Crepé Diem and Two Scoops serving delicious food while you enjoy The Max!”
Continuing each Thursday through July 30th, the Shane Center presents a free community concert at the Henry Blake pavilion from 5 to 8 pm. On July 9th, come enjoy Gary Small and the Coyote Brothers bringing their “fine boogie music” to the stage of the Pavilion.
The community is encouraged to get to the Blake Pavilion early, bring chairs or blankets and please, no outside food or beverages. Make plans to enjoy the music and try rotating options from local food truck vendors and drinks from the State Farm caboose featuring soft drinks, beer and wine, popcorn and more.
There is expanded bicycle parking onsite and additional vehicle parking available at the Lincoln School at 215 East Lewis Street. The Shane Center is located at 415 E. Lewis Street. The event opens at 4 pm, when food trucks will begin service.
This event is brought to you by Marcia McCrum in memory of Bliss McCrum, Livingston Health Care, Pine Creek Lodge, Yvonne Brutger and Dain Rodwell, Carol Lalani in memory of Sal Lalani and Mighty Fine Time Live Events.
