For 37 years, the Tree of Life has offered the Livingston community a meaningful way to remember loved ones, honor caregivers, and support families receiving compassionate care at the end of life.
Livingston HealthCare’s Home Health and Hospice and the Livingston HealthCare Foundation invite the community to gather for the 37th annual Tree of Life celebration on Wednesday, December 2nd from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Livingston Depot Center.
The Tree of Life is a cherished holiday tradition in Livingston. Each year, community members dedicate lights in memory of someone they have lost or to recognize a caregiver whose compassion and presence made a difference. The illuminated tree at Livingston HealthCare symbolizes remembrance, gratitude, and hope throughout the holiday season.
“Tree of Life is such a special reflection of who we are as a community,” said Jessie Wilcox, Executive Director of the Livingston Healthcare Foundation. “It gives us an opportunity to pause during the holiday season, remember the people who have shaped our lives, and recognize the caregivers who walk alongside families during some of their most difficult moments.”
Proceeds from Tree of Life directly support Livingston HealthCare’s Hospice services, bereavement support, and the greatest needs of Hospice patients and their families. These services provide comfort and support not only to patients, but also to the family members and loved ones navigating loss.
The names of those honored and remembered through Tree of Life are included on a memorial scroll displayed at Livingston HealthCare throughout the year. Community members wishing to have a dedication included in this year’s celebration are asked to submit their dedication by November 20th. Because the memorial scroll must be prepared and printed in advance, submissions received after the deadline cannot be guaranteed inclusion.
“Whether we are remembering someone we love or honoring someone who cared for us, Tree of Life reminds us that no one has to walk through grief alone,” said Wilcox. “We are grateful to everyone who continues this beautiful tradition and helps make compassionate end-of-life and bereavement care available close to home.”
