One-Hour Talk Over Lunch for LGBTQ Allies Follows Livingston Pride
Abuse Support Prevention Network (ASPEN) and Bridgercare are collaborating to host a discussion about LGBTQ+ support to interested members of the public. The session, titled “Caring Communities,” provides an overview of a more extensive training program and is suitable for anyone who would like a safe place to ask questions and learn more about the experiences of friends, neighbors and family members in the LGBTQ+ community. The event will take place Tuesday, May 5th from noon until 1 pm in the Community Room at the City-County Building and includes a free lunch with a suggested $5 donation.
ASPEN chose to hold the discussion following Livingston Pride week. According to ASPEN Executive Director Heidi Barrett, “The Livingston community has shown support time and time again for all community members, regardless of their differences. ASPEN has been partnering with the Livingston Pride Coalition for many years to host the highly popular local drag shows, learning from the group how to form stronger alliances with the LGBTQ+ community. We wanted to build on the existing support in Livingston for the LGBTQ+ and bring more community members into the fold, making a stronger, kinder and more resilient community moving forward.”
ASPEN requests that those interested in attending Caring Communities Lunch & Learn to RSVP at aspenmt.org/events or by emailing info@aspenmt.org by the morning of Tuesday, May 5th (the day of the event). For questions or more information, please contact the above email address. The City-County building is located at 414 E. Callender Street in Livingston.
