The Livingston Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has named Katya Peterson its new Executive Director. Peterson began her new role on Monday, November 2nd.

A Montana State University graduate with a B.S. in Marketing and Management, Peterson brings a decade of experience in tourism and small business marketing to the role. She spent eight years with Tempest Technologies, a Montana marketing agency, where she led strategy and campaigns for clients. As project manager for the Southwest Montana tourism region, she worked closely with business owners, chamber directors and tourism district leaders.

“Montana has always been home, and getting to support Livingston’s businesses and community is a privilege,” Peterson said. “I’ve seen firsthand across Montana how much promotion and economic development matter, for the people who live here and for the visitors who help sustain our local economy. I’m looking forward to strengthening the Chamber and getting to know the businesses that make Livingston such an incredible place to call home.”

“We are very excited to have Katya Peterson as our new Executive Director. She brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of knowledge in marketing and tourism that will be a huge benefit to our members and community” said Lisa Sholey, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

For five years, Peterson served as speaker coordinator and coach for TEDxBozeman, bringing together diverse voices from across the state and coaching speakers to deliver memorable talks. That love of storytelling later led her to Western College of Auctioneering, and she has since worked as a benefit auctioneer helping nonprofits raise funds for their missions.

Peterson has a lifelong love for Big Sky Country. Craft coffee, small-batch whiskey, and road trips fuel her soul, and nothing captures her heart quite like the Two Medicine Valley in Glacier National Park. “I truly believe storytelling is what brings us all together,” Peterson said, “and Livingston has an incredible story to tell.”
