The Park County Land Trust (PCLT) welcomed community members, partners, and local leaders to its first Meet & Greet on Thursday, April 9th, held in the lobby of the historic Murray Hotel. The event drew a full and engaged crowd, signaling strong local interest in land conservation efforts across Park County.

Attendees included representatives from several regional conservation organizations, including the Park County Environmental Council, Freshwater Partners, Friends of Park County, Gallatin Valley Land Trust, and Montana Conservation Voters. Elected officials representing both the City of Livingston and Park County were also in attendance, alongside PCLT board members and community supporters.

Board Chairman Steve Caldwell welcomed guests and encouraged attendees to connect with board members, learn more about the organization’s mission, and explore opportunities to get involved.

“We’re so grateful to our community partners for being here and for the shared commitment to protecting the landscapes and heritage that make Park County so special,” said Steve Caldwell. “We’d love for folks to connect with our board members tonight, learn more about what we’re doing, and find ways to be part of it.”

Mission-Driven Work for Future Generations

At its core, the Park County Land Trust is guided by a mission to preserve the natural beauty and historic heritage of Park County for current and future generations. Through voluntary land conservation, the organization works with landowners to protect ecologically, agriculturally, and historically significant open spaces—ensuring they remain part of the community’s shared landscape.

PCLT envisions a future where vibrant communities and protected open spaces exist in harmony—where ranching families thrive, wildlife flourishes, and the clean waters of the Yellowstone River continue to inspire.

As the organization grows, it aims to serve as a trusted, community-supported partner in conservation—working collaboratively to protect the land that defines Park County.

Special Thanks

PCLT extends its sincere gratitude to Dan Kaul and Kathleen Kaul for their generous donation of the Murray Hotel lobby. The space provided a beautiful and welcoming setting perfectly suited for an event of this size and significance.
