Returning for their third visit at The Shane Center’s popular Summer Outdoor Concert Series is John Roberts Y Pan Blanco, presenting an evening of high energy Afro Cuban salsa music.
Continuing each Thursday through July 30th, the Shane Center presents a free community concert at the Henry Blake pavilion from 5 to 8 pm. On June 25th, come enjoy the Afro Cuban Salsa music of John Roberts y Pan Blanco.
John Roberts began playing piano at age five while living on an isolated ranch in Southeastern Montana. After graduating from Montana State University-Billings with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance in 1996, John moved to Los Angeles, eventually earning his Master of Fine Arts in Western Orchestral Performance from California Institute of the Arts. He has performed in all 50 of the United States and around the world, having performed on stage with some of the giants in soul music.
The community is encouraged to arrive early at the Blake Pavilion, bring chairs or blankets and please, no outside food or beverages. Make plans to enjoy the music, try rotating options from local food truck vendors and enjoy snacks and beverages from the State Farm caboose, including soft drinks, beer and wine, popcorn and more.
The Shane Center is located at 415 E. Lewis Street in Livingston. Expanded bicycle parking is available onsite, as well as additional vehicle parking at the Lincoln School, 215 E. Lewis Street. The event, including food truck service, begins at 4 pm. This big, horn-based band had the entire pavilion on their feet last summer, bringing along salsa instructors who taught folks on the dance floor some fabulous new moves. It is nearly impossible not to move when the band takes the stage.
This event is brought to you by Marcia McCrum in memory of Bliss McCrum, Livingston Health Care, Pine Creek Lodge, Yvonne Brutger and Dain Rodwell, Carol Lalani in memory of Sal Lalani and Mighty Fine Time Live Events.
