Have you enjoyed Downtown Livingston's Flower Baskets this summer? The 35 large hanging baskets on Downtown light posts are funded by the Livingston Improvement District to brighten historic Downtown Livingston. This is their second year of lower-water, larger baskets and, despite the record-high temperatures, the baskets have grown to be exceptionally large and lush.
They have entered the Montana Main Street flower basket contest and would love your vote before the contest closes on October 2nd! Please take 30 seconds and type in Livingston’s basket #14 at the top of the contest web page (our photo shows the Owl and Empire Theatre in the background). You'll also need to vote for another community’s flowerpot planter at the bottom of the page in order to submit. The vote link is accessible via the pop-up button on downtownlivingston.org and the Downtown Livingston Facebook page.
Three cheers to Downtown Livingston Improvement District Contractor Heather Muldoon of Suncatcher Gardens Service for growing the flowers for the baskets and making sure they had enough fertilizer, and Downtown Livingston Improvement District Contractor Edd Enders for his many hours watering the flowers with thousands of gallons of water to keep them growing and blooming. The rougher baskets are slowly being taken down but we will keep the happy ones up as long as possible. This program is funded by the building owners in the Downtown District.
