Everton Mattress & Furniture Outlet is excited to announce plans to transition into the current Livingston Home Outfitters location in Livingston, bringing a renewed vision, expanded product offerings, and a long-term commitment to serving the Livingston and Park County communities.
As part of the transition, Everton will continue liquidating existing Livingston Home Outfitters inventory while simultaneously reloading the showroom with additional merchandise sourced from Everton’s Idaho operations and warehouse network. Customers will see a large selection of factory-direct mattresses, furniture closeouts, opportunity buys, and appliance specials throughout the transition period.
The liquidation and reset process is expected to continue through the mid-summer months, or until inventory levels are properly balanced for the next phase of the store’s development.
Chris and Heidi Sanders are the new owners leading the transition. Both are Montana natives raised in Butte. Chris Sanders graduated from the University of Montana in 1990 with a business degree and has been part of Everton Mattress since 1994, holding multiple leadership positions before purchasing the factory operations in 2014. He later acquired the Elko retail operation in 2017 and purchased the Everton Mattress & Furniture retail store in Twin Falls, Idaho in November of 2020.
Everton plans to retain select members of the Livingston Home Outfitters team while actively hiring additional employees in sales and warehouse operations. Team members from Everton’s Southern Idaho operations will also be temporarily assisting during the transition process.
Everton Mattress was originally established in Logan in 1925 and has built a reputation around handcrafted quality, factory-direct pricing, and American manufacturing. Today, the company operates manufacturing and retail operations throughout the Northwest.
Everton manufactures mattresses through both its Idaho operations and its partnership factory in Lacey. The Idaho manufacturing facility operates out of a 40,000-square-foot factory located in Filer, while the Lacey, Washington operation features a state-of-the-art 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility dedicated to advanced mattress production and innovation.
In addition to ownership responsibilities, Chris Sanders also oversees and works closely with the combined wholesale sales organization covering eight western states.
The Everton factory division recently merged operations with Sound Sleep in Lacey, strengthening production capabilities, purchasing power, and shared raw material sourcing. The partnership also brings expanded research and development capabilities, including patented gel technologies that Everton believes will play a major role in the future of luxury bedding and sleep products.
Both manufacturing facilities are committed to low-waste and environmentally conscious production practices. Scrap virgin foam generated during manufacturing is recycled and repurposed into mattress base pad products rather than being discarded as waste.
The company also supplies several major hospitality operations throughout the region, earning a reputation for product quality, durability, and long-term customer satisfaction.
Over time, Everton plans to continue expanding product categories inside the Livingston location, including:
- Bedding and adjustable sleep systems, including the addition of Qube and IntelliQube gel sleep systems—the next generation of sleep technology currently being produced inside
- Everton and Sound Sleep factories
- Motion upholstery and recliners
- Stationary upholstery
- Factory-direct furniture
- Expanded appliance offerings, including brand appliances returning to the Livingston market
In the future, Everton also plans a complete showroom reset and new store build-out designed to modernize the location and create a stronger long-term shopping experience for the Livingston community.
A formal grand opening celebration will be announced once the store has been fully reset, staffed, merchandised, and polished to Everton standards. The company expects the event to be a major community celebration focused on honoring Livingston and the surrounding area.
“We believe Livingston deserves a strong hometown furniture and mattress destination backed by real manufacturing experience and factory-direct value,” said Sanders. “Our goal is to invest in the community, create long-term stability, and continue building something customers can rely on for years to come. We also understand the importance of supporting the communities that support us, and we look forward to becoming part of Livingston for many years ahead.”
Everton Mattress has built its philosophy around a simple message: We build the mattress in Idaho—you buy direct from the factory.
Additional announcements regarding hiring opportunities, grand opening events, and future expansions will be released as the transition progresses.
